Vault-Ox® Introducing Static Stormwater Remediation Chemistry
Many pathogenic bacteria are strict anaerobes. Static water in underground drainage/storagestructures become anoxic, lacking or completely absent of oxygen. Production of organic acids lower pH, mobilizing heavy metals. By introducing oxygen and calcium into the system with Vault-Ox®, aerobic bacteria are able to thrive, superseding anaerobic growth. The pH will be raised to 8-9, keeping metals in an oxidized state. Oxygen and calcium, or oxygen and iron, will form calcium phosphate and ferric phosphate, respectively, immobilizing phosphorus.
A Source of Alkalinity: · Increases the formation of calcite and apatite · This increases the Phosphorus binding capacity of calcium · Reduces free H2S concentrations · Formulation buffers and regulates pH · Counters acid rain · Prevents acidification of water when sulfides are oxidized · Maintains heavy metals in an immobilized oxidized state
Improve Dissolved Oxygen Sequester Phosphates Elevates pH Promotes Oxidation of Organics Enhances Aerobic Activity Lower COD/BOD Affordable and lasting Many pathogenic bacteria are strict anaerobes. By introducing oxygen into the system with Vault-Ox®, aerobic bacteria are able to thrive, breaking down hydrocarbons and abating odor associated with anaerobes (ie. Sulfur “rotten egg” smell)
